M50 eFlow — Back Office ICT Systems
Carra supports the ICT systems behind Dublin’s M50 eFlow free-flow tolling
eFlow is Ireland’s primary free-flow tolling system, allowing motorists to travel the M50 at normal speed while automated systems record electronic tags or number plates. The system is operated by BetEire Flow, a partnership between Sanef and CS. Carra was engaged by CS to support the installation and ongoing maintenance of the back-office and ICT systems essential to eFlow’s operation.
The Challenge

Back-office systems
- Configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server platforms, Active Directory and Exchange.
- Administration of the website, backups, and disaster recovery.
Tolling infrastructure
- Support for the server environment handling ANPR image processing and high-capacity storage.
- Maintenance of communications links to roadside equipment including ANPR cameras, radars and tag readers.
Customer contact centre ICT
- Ongoing technical support for the systems used by the eFlow customer service team.
- 24-hour call-out response for critical issues.
All works were carried out in alignment with the requirements of the Irish National Roads Authority.
